DOWNEY, Calif. – The Latest on a lockdown at a Los Angeles area hospital (all local times):

Police said a man who caused trouble at a hospital in southern California had been arrested and that a handgun had been recovered. But the police add that there is no evidence that he fired shots.
Downey Police Chief Carl Charles said Tuesday that no one was injured during the incident at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center near Los Angeles.
Charles says the suspect threw a chair out of an office window before taking out a handgun. The chief says that the man was not armed when he went without incident just outside the building. A pistol was found later.
He is described as a 34-year-old Lynwood resident nearby. According to unconfirmed information, he was patient at the hospital.

A witness said that she saw an angry man throwing tables through an interior window in an office of the hospital before a security guard shouted that the man had a gun and that the center medical was locked.
Authorities say that a suspect is in detention and that there are casualties following the incident Tuesday at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center near Los Angeles.
Amber Boughner tells KABC-TV that the man required to be admitted to the office and hit the walls before throwing the tables. She says she has not seen a gun or heard gunshots. Boughner says that she and others ran into another part of the building and locked themselves in a break room.
We do not know if there was a shooting. MPs and police search the building.
