In a Facebook post on Saturday night, Ocala police identified the suspect as 54-year-old David Johnson. According to authorities, Johnson reportedly killed Carli Cronin, 30, on Saturday afternoon during a domestic dispute in the Walmart Garden section. Police said Johnson had fled on a bicycle and then committed suicide.
Johnson has been hospitalized but police say he does not expect that he will survive his injuries.
Authorities say Cronin has been hit several times.

A Florida man said the woman shot in a Walmart store was killed by her ex-boyfriend.
Scotty Ballard told Ocala Star-Banner that he was the roommate of the victim and that they had gone to Walmart on Saturday to buy furniture for their apartment. He added that the victim and the suspect were about 9 months old, but were currently separated and had been fighting all day.
Ballard says the suspect wanted to get back together, but she did not do it.
The shooting took place during a possible marital dispute in the garden portion of a Walmart store in Ocala, north of Orlando.
Ocala police said in an article on Facebook that the suspect, a 55-year-old man, had been hospitalized late Saturday afternoon due to a self-inflicted bullet wound.

A woman who was shopping in the gardens section of a Walmart store in North Florida said to have opened a driveway and to have seen a man standing over a woman, shooting him several times of fire.
Colleen Wade told Ocala Star-Banner that the man had then left the store serenely Saturday afternoon. When she came out of Walmart to Ocala, she saw the man on bicycle leaving the store.
Ocala police said on social media that the man and the woman had been involved in an argument before the shootings shortly before 3 pm The woman shouted for help and the store's employees called 911 and tried to intervene. The woman died in a hospital.
No other buyer or employee was injured.
