The Braves won the national league crown of the Eastern League for the first time since 2013.

The Atlanta Braves won the 2018 East National Division title with a 5-3 win over the Phillies on Saturday.

This is the first time the Braves have won the NL East division since 2013. It's the 13th time in the history of the franchise that Atlanta has won the pennant race, the most many of the teams in the division.

The Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs with the result.

Midfielder Braves, Mike Foltynewicz, took a free kick in the sixth round of Saturday's win. He gave up two hits and three steps while hitting five hits on 7 1/3 scoreless innings.

Atlanta became the first club in the Netherlands to win a division title this season.

Saturday, the Red Sox (American League East) and the Indians (AL Central) were the only other teams to win their divisions. The Astros earned a playoff spot, but only led a 3 1/2 lead over Athletics in Western Algeria.
