When Texans veteran running back Lamar Miller became a free agent three years ago, he was faced with a choice.

Miller could either remain with the Miami Dolphins, his hometown team where he played high school football and for the University of Miami, or find a new NFL employer.

Miller opted for the Texans, joining the AFC South team on a four-year, $26 million contract.

JOHN McCLAIN: Brock Osweiler stands between Texans and 5-3

They offered me to come back," said Miller, who still has many friends on the Dolphins whom he trains with during the offseason. "I just felt like Houston at the time was a winning organization. They were giving me an opportunity to showcase my skill set. I don't regret anything. I love it here in Houston."

Miller is coming off his best game of the season, rushing for 100 yards in a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's his first 100-yard game since the 2016 season. For the season, Miller has rushed for 371 yards and one touchdown with a 3.9 average and caught 11 passes for 78 yards and one score.

"I think the offensive line has been doing a good job," Miller said. "They're getting us movement. As a running back, trying to be decisive and get the tough yardage."
