Bryan Singer, The besieged director whose career has been dormant for nearly a year after being fired from his latest film and charged with rape, is apparently coming back. (Singer denied the allegations.) According to The Hollywood Reporter, he's in talks to lead Millennium Red Sonja, a cartoon spin-off of Conan the Barbarian. The scenario will be written by Ashley Miller (X-Men: First class, which was produced by Singer). By T.H.R. the project has been in development for more than a decade, with Millennium hoping to turn it into a franchise for our superhero-dominated times.

The independent film company is also considering the project as a way for Singer to rehabilitate its image, sources at the Millennium said. T.H.R. He will be awarded the highest price for his film. Representatives from Millennium and Singer have not yet responded to Vanity Fair's request * Sonja red negotiations.

Why, exactly, does Singer's reputation need "rehabilitation"? Last year, the director was criticized for missing several times Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen Biopic was called to lead. Twentieth Century Fox later removed it from the film and eventually closed the offices of his production company, Bad Hat Harry. In his defense, Singer asserted that he had missed days on the set due to a parent having an urgent health problem. A few days later, the news revealed that the director was facing legal action following a 2003 allegation that he raped a 17-year-old boy. César Sanchez-Guzman during a yacht party. Sanchez-Guzman's lawsuit was brought by a lawyer Jeff Herman, who also represented Michael Egan, the man who accused Singer, among other Hollywood personalities, of sexual assault in 2014; Egan finally withdrew his business and Herman apologized to the accused. The Sanchez-Guzman affair seemed to continue in May. Singer's lawyer, Andrew Brettler, vehemently denied the allegations on behalf of his client.

Anyway, Singer's career has been a success. In addition to being replaced Bohemian Rhapsody and by losing his Fox outpost, he was also dropped as a producer on the FX series Legion. His E.P. role on The talented also underwent an evaluation. Actress Jessica Chastain, Featured in the action movie produced by Singer X-Men: Dark Phoenix, expressed his feelings on the subject, tweeting a link to an article on the allegation against the director. "I do not feel indebted to anything. I will talk about any injustice I see, "she said later in an interview.

Thus, Singer is still involved in a scandal, which seems to be turning it into a permanent pariah. But it seems that Millennium thinks that the time has come to rehabilitate his image with a potential franchise of comics, a story with a rare woman's story, no less. We are convinced that every effort has been made to find a director before settling on Singer.
