Does the Veon Bell join the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Le'Veon Bell has posted an encrypted tweet Monday indicating a departure from Miami, prompting many people to wonder if it means he will join the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The star of the run played under a franchise label in 2017, leading the NFL in playoffs despite her assault on the final game of the regular season.
He was hit again with the label before the 2018 season and failed to show up at the training camp for the second year in a row. Unlike 2017, however, he did not return to the team in Week 1 in 2018 and did not play all season in hopes of signing a long-term contract.
Steelers go beyond Bell's limits
James Conner was admirable for Bell. The second-year back is second in the NFL in rushing yards (706) and touchdowns (nine).
Some in the locker room of the team have stopped worrying about the return of triple All-Pro.
"Doing nothing against James, running is a job at eleven," said head coach Mike Tomlin. ESPN's Dianna Russini before Week 9 of the Steelers with the Baltimore Ravens. "We believe a lot in our offensive line. They do a great job opening holes for him. But to James' credit, he runs, catches, blocks, does everything we ask our future runner to do. … We did not spend a lot of time focusing on [Bell’s holdout] because it's not under our control. These decisions belong to Le'Veon. We need volunteers, not hostages.
After the game, after a 23-16 win over 5-2-1, goaltender David DeCastro told Sports Illustrated, "At this point, it's a bit the same, what's the point? Why waste more energy? The first week we were shocked by [the Bell holdout]. At this point, what are you going to do? Do you sit here and drive to her and beg him to come back? Obviously, that's not how it works. So we made every effort to try our best for this team. … It does not matter. If it shows up, you block your man as you would for Conner. It's not like it's going to be a problem. Even if it was dramatic, it will not affect the way we play football. "
