Lil Xan announced that he is retiring, the rapper claiming that he no longer has the desire to make music after the death of "hero" Mac Miller.
Miller died of an apparent drug overdose on Friday, resulting in a large number of condolences from around the world of music. Lil Xan seems to be among the hardest hit, saying on the podcast No sweater that Miller's death makes him want to leave the music.
"The Mac ** is crazy," said Lil Xan (via Hollywood life). "I was crying in my apartment, Mac would not die, Mac was not overdosing."
"When your hero dies, that's it. I do not want to do any more music, "said Xan, noting that he planned to retire after the end of his current contract.
As Mac Miller was in his life, Lil Xan was open about his addiction issues. He said that an episode of anxiety in 2014 led to the prescription of Xanax, which eventually degenerated into addiction.
"I had anxiety in April 2014," said Lil Xan MTV. "I was hospitalized for two weeks and they did not know what was wrong at home and in the end, they administered me a low dose of Xanax. Above all the anti-Xanax message in what I was doing, I was actually a pro-Xanax culture.
The rapper has since managed to overcome the addiction and now denounces Xanax. He even made efforts to rename himself Diego.
Lil Xan actually said that tours and shows have helped to overcome the problems that led to her addiction.
"Playing is the only time I do not have anxiety, surprisingly no?" Said the rapper. "People are wondering how to play in front of thousands of people. I do not know if it's the adrenaline that goes off or something, but it's really the only time I'm at peace. I want everyone to know they are not alone. That's why I do it.

Lil Xan is not the only rapper to express his condolences after the death of Mac Miller. Post Malone said in a video released by TMZ that he was devastated by the death of his friend and his influence.
"It was a guy so beautiful and sweet. He loved everyone, "he said. "I grew up listening to his music and he inspired me. That sucks.
Lil Xan is not likely to leave the music anytime soon. The rapper is currently touring and has a series of dates over the next three months.
