In a new frank interview with The GuardianLily Allen said she was assaulted by an anonymous publisher at a party in Los Angeles.
Allen addresses the incident in his next brief, My thoughts exactlywhich will be published on September 20 in the United States and December 20 in the United States. The singer said the guardian she wanted to name the man who had assaulted her in the book, but her publisher finally advised against doing so for legal reasons.
After being "crushed" at the party, Allen says the man left her in her hotel room to sleep, but then, "I woke up at 5 am because I felt somebody. one by one I was naked too … I moved away as quickly as possible and jumped out of bed, alarmed … I quickly found my clothes … and ran out of his room to enter mine.
Allen stated that she continued to work with the man after the assault because he had more power and she feared being called a "difficult woman." Upon her return to London, the singer asked to be assisted by a lawyer and signed an affidavit because she "wanted it to be recorded that I had been sexually assaulted by someone I was working with".
Later she refused a BBC Radio 1 performance because she knew that one of the other executive artists would be there and did not want to meet him. As a result, Allen thinks she was "punished by Radio 1, without prior broadcast for my next single, Trigger Bang."
