TORONTO (AP) – Francisco Lindor offers Indians a new power record.

Lindor had two solo circuits and four RBIs, rookie Shane Bieber played in the seventh inning to stay unbeaten in nine starts and Cleveland beat the Toronto Blue Jays 9-4 on Thursday night for his third straight win. .

Cleveland reduced its magic number to seven to win a third consecutive Central AL championship.

Lindor has six multihomer games in first place this season, a major league record. All-Star has said three times that he likes to have the chance to set the tone.

"Whatever happens, if I do something to help the team in the first run, the teams know" Here are the Indians and they are here to compete, "Lindor said.

Lindor took part in the third round of right-hander Sam Gaviglio's 10th career game and seventh this season. He returned to Gaviglio in third place for his eighth career game. Lindor has 33 homers at home, which is her total of last year. He added a two-point single in the fifth and again scored in the ninth.

"Wow," said manager Terry Francona. "He was the majority of our offense for a while over there."

Bieber said that Lindor's energy and production were "contagious".

"It's huge for us when it's going well," said Bieber. "It makes sure everyone gets hurt."

Lindor approached Francona early in the spring training and asked to start.

"The minute he said that, I was delighted," Francona said.

Lindor's first shot broke the tie with George Springer of Houston for the first few rounds of the season and tied Grady Sizemore's Indian record in 2008.

Toronto's Rowdy Tellez doubled in the second and fourth rounds after making a double in his debut on Wednesday, making him the first player in Major league history with additional strikes in each of his first three appearances.

"He is the new cult hero in town," said Blue Jays director John Gibbons.

Tellez doubled again to seventh place, joining Ben Grieve, of Oakland, as the only player since 1920 to record four doubles in their first two games.

Jason Kipnis hit a three-point shot from Mark Leiter Jr., the Blue Jays reliever, in the ninth, his 15th.

Bieber (9-3) allowed four runs, three wins and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings, improving to 5-0 away.

Gaviglio (3-8) allowed five runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings to lose for the fourth time in five starts.

Led 2-0 on both Lindor circuits, the Blue Jays regrouped with four points in the fourth. Tellez doubled at home a race, Teoscar Hernandez hit a two-point double and scored on a throw-off error by first baseman Yonder Alonso.

The Indians responded with three in the fifth. Brandon Guyer chased Gaviglio with an RBI double, and Lindor welcomed reliever Jose Fernandez with a two-point single.

Indian outfielder Greg Allen gave his team a double with RBI right-footer Justin Shafer doubling in seventh.

Tyler Olson of Cleveland pitched to a batter in the seventh. Adam Cimber got two outs, Cody Allen worked the eighth and Dan Otero finished.

SORRY CHEF

Cleveland has removed the Chief Wahoo logo from the sleeve of his uniforms for the series, a move that should become permanent next season. The decision to remove the logo from this series was partially motivated by a court challenge against the team when it played in Toronto at the 2016 AL championship series. While Cleveland played at the Blue Jays, a pursuit was brought so that the logo and the name of the team would be banned from Canadian television. A judge dismissed the case.

The Indians will return to their uniforms when they play in Tampa Bay next week.

Lindor has four games with four strokes and four games with four runs produced this season. He leads the majors with 117 points scored.
