Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina gave some advice to the elected representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who compared the current situation on the southern US border to the fate of the Jews during the Holocaust.

"I recommend that she visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington," Graham tweeted On Monday. "This could help to better understand the differences between the Holocaust and the caravan in Tijuana."

Graham was answering a Sunday tweet from Ocasio-Cortez in which she compared migrants on the southern border with Jews fleeing from Germany during the Holocaust and families fleeing the devastating circumstances in Syria and Rwanda.

Ocasio-Cortez, a self-proclaimed New York social democrat, questioned President Donald Trump's decision to send thousands of soldiers on duty to help border patrol agents cope with migrant floods, saying that the country should send thousands of social workers.

Graham announced his support for Trump's decision to temporarily close the border at one of the busiest ports of entry on Sunday after dozens of migrants rushed to the gate and tried to flee.
