The Independent IFM Gotham Awards 2018 were handed out Monday night in New York by the Independent Filmmaker Project.
Elsie Fisher won the Breakthrough Actor Award for "Eighth Grade" in an all-female category: Fisher, Yalitza Aparicio for "Roma", Helena Howard for "Madeline's Madeline", KiKi Layne for "Si Beale Street" speak "and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie for" Leave No Trace ".

Past tributes to the Gotham Awards went to director Paul Greengrass, actors Willem Dafoe and Rachel Weisz, and Radical Media President Jon Kamen.
A special Jury Prize was awarded to Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz, the three main actresses of Yorgos Lanthimos's film "The Favorite". This film was considered a foreign production by the Film Independent Spirit Awards and a British production by the British Independent Film Awards, he described himself as American indie to Gotham rules.

The Gotham Awards, based in New York, are one of the top two honors of the independent film and are presented at the beginning of the awards season. The other major independent show, the Independent Film Film Awards, takes place in Los Angeles at the end of the season, the eve of the Oscars. His nominations will be announced on November 16th.
In the 13 years since the Gotham Awards featured the Best Feature category, the winner has won the Oscar only four times – but these four awards have all been won over the last nine years, including "Birdman "In 2014," Spotlight "in 2015 and" Moonlight "in 2016.
