EUREKA, Mo. – The Six Flags St. Louis Fright Fest Festival strives to rekindle ghosts this Halloween season with a "to die for" contest – a 30-hour "Coffin Challenge" to celebrate 30 years screaming.

Six people were chosen to spend 30 hours in a coffin from 13h. Saturday, October 13 until 19h the next day.

Six Flags St. Louis announced the contest on its Facebook page last month and, in the space of 12 days, 45,229 people from across the country have applied to take part in the challenge.

WHO ARE THE BRAVE SOULS COMPETING IN THE CHALLENGE?

Of these nominations, only six "lucky" people were selected. All those who have been chosen come from the Midwest, from Illinois to Indiana. One person calls Missouri home.

5 On Your Side's social media manager, Jeanie Smith, decided that she was ready to take up the challenge and that she was completing the 30 hours without having a chance to win. You can follow all the backstage of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by searching the #JeanieInaCoffin hashtag.

WHY, IN THE WORLD, SHOULD IT BE REGISTERED?

Everyone who goes to the end will receive $ 300, the Gold Season Passes 2019, a Fright Fest package, two VIP Haunted House passes, tickets to get on the Freak train and, of course, their coffin.

Yes, participants must keep their coffins.

THE FINISHING END

  • The inhabitants of the coffins will have a six-minute break every hour in the bathroom
  • Competitors must come out of their coffins for the six-minute break every hour, even at night.
  • Participants can bring a friend, but once the park is closed, they will only have Freak Fest Freaks, who are hiding in the dark.
  • Six Flags will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed. But here's the problem: participants only have 15 minutes to eat it.
  • There will be phone charging stations available
  • Participants must bring their own pillows and sleeping bags or blankets. They are going to need it because the forecasts seem a little scary for sleeping outside.
  • The coffins will be installed outside the park. If it's raining, there will be awnings. If the weather becomes harsh (showers, hail, lightning, etc.), they will move the coffins inside until they are safe.

  • Participants can not bring any food or drink from outside. However, they can bring drops of gum or cough.
