The first Muslim elected to Congress on Tuesday predicted that the Supreme Court's decision to uphold President Donald Trump's travel ban would end up in "the trash can of history," adding that Trump had adapted the court to "his ugly philosophy".
"Discrimination and racism and hate and religious fanaticism will never win in the end," said Ellison.
Ellison said the president "has his Supreme Court tailor-made to his ugly philosophy," calling it a "partisan court".
He added that he does not believe that Judge Neil Gorsuch, whom Trump named after Congressional Republicans prevented former President Barack Obama from filling a vacancy at the end of his presidency, either on the court "correctly".
"It just proves one thing, that if you steal and scam a Supreme Court judge, then you can try to block any kind of dirty, racist, ugly politics on the part of the American people, but we do not take it," Ellison said.
