The Boston Red Sox are one win from their fourth appearance at the World Series in 15 years. They will try to beat the reigning champion, the Houston Astros, on Thursday in the fifth game of the American League Championship Series at Minute Maid Park.
After dropping the first home game, the Red Sox offensive has become alive and has scored at least seven points in each of the past three games. The big shots come from Jackie Bradley Jr., who had a double of three innings in the second match, a grand slam in the third match and two shots in the fourth.
Boston has a 3-1 lead in a best-of-7 series for the first time since the 1918 World Series against the Cubs.

The 23 races for the Red Sox are more than the Astros allowed in a sequence of three games in the regular season. Houston has allowed at least 20 points on just three games five times in 2018 and has been the best in baseball all year to prevent points. The Astros have allowed only 3.3 points per game, 112 points less than the most formidable team of the American League, the Rays.
Justin Verlander, who beat the Red Sox in the first game at Fenway Park, is trying to stop this offensive push. Since joining the Astros, the right-handed veteran has had a silver medal of 2.44 in eight playoffs, including seven starts, with 51 strikeouts and 14 goals in 48 innings.
In his career, Verlander is 4-1 in five qualifying starts with an average of 1.21 points and 41 strikeouts in 37.
