OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Overland Park police are seeking four locations related to a shooting that seriously injured two people working at a Blue Valley elementary school on Tuesday morning.
Agent John Lacy, spokesperson for the Overland Park Police Department, tweeted at 10:47 that they had localized the suspect vehicle, but they are still looking for the suspect.
Police say they believe that after the car hijacking, the suspect went to the home of the man who owned the vehicle he stole. This is not far from the scene of the shooting. The police do not encourage owners to be vigilant.
Lacy said the two injured people were contractors working on the school playground and that the man who shot them was also working. for the same contractor. The two wounded are currently treated in a hospital in the area
The four active scenes where the police are present are:
- 157th and Roe: Sunrise Point Primary School where the shooting took place.
- 151st and Metcalf: The suspect attempted to carjack someone at a car wash, but the suspect failed.
- 148th and Metcalf: The suspect took a black Denali from someone and drove away.
- and Rosewood: The suspect drove to the house of the man who owned the stolen Denali.
Agent Lacy said that there had been an argument before the shooting, but it is unclear what this argument consisted of.
There were no children on the property of the school. come. The policeman was not injured, but the police say that he was shaken in an understandable way.
