■ A five-year contract allegedly had McDaniels stay with the Patriots: Josh McDaniels has landed a five-year deal with the Patriots, one of the reasons the offensive coordinator made a head-to-head encounter with the Colts head coach, according to a report by NFL Media. The extension was developed at a meeting with the team owner, Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick shortly after the return of the Super Bowl LII team. McDaniels was one year old for his contract with Patriots when he accepted the Indianapolis position. Read the full story here.
■ The patriot rookie of the Sony Michel patriots should not play, according to several reports: Michel is still recovering from a minor procedure that has drained fluid from his knee. The 23-year-old missed the majority of the pre-season, but returned to training on August 27th. Michel was limited in practice this week.
■ The NFL should not implement its new anthem policy this season: ESPN reports that the league's new national anthem policy will not be a policy.
■ According to many reports, the full Texans Will Fuller catcher should not play: Fuller, who fought a hamstring injury, was limited in practice this week. He caught 28 passes for 423 yards last season.
