Look for bird traps to trap glue, after six shots in sticky stain on feeders

gTrap killers are hunted after six wild birds were caught in the sticky substance that had been smeared on feeders in a West Sussex nature reserve.

Five Blue Guards and a Great Tit were found dead by rangers at the Warnham Local Nature Reserve on Thursday. Employees removed the other birds for cleaning and alerted the RSPCA of their findings.

The animal welfare charity said three men were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

Two of them were about 30 years old, six feet tall, with long, shaved hair on the sides. A third man was described as being older, but not as tall and wearing a cap.

If they are found guilty, those responsible could be sentenced to up to six months' imprisonment and an unlimited fine.
