Looks like Sony has just quietly confirmed a sequel to Venom

Venom made a lot of money, and even if most of it was covered in extraterrestrial ink, it was enough to at least convince Sony to keep Spider Man spin-off living universe. The next movie we'll see is technically based on Spidey's comics even though Spidey himself will not appear: Morbius, a solo film centered on Marvel's "living vampire" with the living vampire, Jared Leto, in filming. After that, Sony's plans are a bit more vague, but the studio has just dropped a pretty obvious clue to what it's working on.

As reported by Variety, Sony has programmed two Spider Manmovies related to 2020, with one that's probably Morbius striking on July 10 and another "untitled sequel to Sony-Marvel" coming on October 2nd. Spider-Man: far from home next year, so that's not it, which means it's a sequel to another Sony-Marvel movie. Since it's not Amazing Spider-Man 3 (sorry, Andrew Garfield), it's almost certainly Venom 2. It will be fast enough for a sequel, but it's not like Sony has ever fled from running something Spider Man-linked in the ground. Once again, we are very sorry for Andrew Garfield.

Anyway, that means we can see Woody Harrelson devouring landscapes as Carnage in just a few years, so it will be fun.
