NFL player Robert Woods is a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams.

In addition to Rihanna, he reportedly targeted the homes of singer Matthew Tota, aka Matt Pokora, baseball player Yasiel Puig and American footballer Robert Woods.

It is alleged that burglaries took place between August 24 and September 27 of this year.

Tyress Williams is sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted of all charges.

Prosecutors are asking for his bail to be set at $ 200,000 (£ 153,000).

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Three other people – aged 19, 18 and 34 – were also arrested in connection with the alleged robberies.

Los Angeles police said the suspects would be part of a large network of burglars targeting actors, athletes and Hollywood producers.

"The homes of the victims were selected on the basis of social media publications and touring or travel schedules of the owners," said Lillian Carranza, head of the LAPD's commercial crime division.

"The burglars thought that no one would be home and that the houses would contain desirable valuables that might interest them."
