Spectators in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 18-game win over the Boston Red Sox in the third game of the World Series dropped 15% from last year, hurt by a match that ended at 12:30 PM Pacific time.
The Dodgers' 3-2 win, which took a record of 7 hours, 20 minutes, averaged 13,251,000 over Fox, said the network on Saturday. That's a drop of 15,483,000 on average for Houston's 5: 3 win over the Dodgers last year, a game that lasted 3:46. The match 3 this year was the lowest seen since an average of 13,722,000 viewers for the 9-3 victory of the New York Mets on Kansas City in 2015.
Boston's 8-4 win in the opening match was 13,755,000 and the 4-2 win in Game 2 of 13,442,000, Fox said.

After the 18 rounds of Friday night, the Dodgers reduced the practice at batting time to 30 minutes and made it optional.
Director Dave Roberts says he's ready to go after a short night's sleep.
"We are in a good mental space right now, I have slept a few hours, I have three cups of coffee at the bottom," Roberts said. "It's the World Series, so if you can not get up for it, we have to find something else to do."
Match 3 was the longest match in the history of the World Series with 7 hours and 20 minutes.

David Freese leads the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series.
He will start at first base against the Boston Red Sox.
Max Muncy, whose 18th round run gave the Dodgers a 3-2 win in the third game, beat the second and play the second goal.
Third-baseman Justin Turner scored third, followed by shortstop Manny Machado, center Cody Bellinger, right-field player Yasiel Puig, left-field player Chris Taylor, receiver Chris Barnes, and of the Rich Hill launcher.
The Red Sox refine their lineup against the left-handed Hill.
Mookie Betts stands out and plays in the middle of the field.
Andrew Benintendi scores second and plays on the left field, while shortstop Xander Bogaerts moves to fifth place.
Steve Pearce starts at first base and hits the third goal after starting the third game as a crush on the 11th inning.
Striker J.D. Martinez finished fourth, followed by Bogaerts and third baseman Eduardo Nunez, who was hit in the 10th inning in Game 3.
Second baseman Brock Holt finished seventh, followed by receiver Christian Vasquez and pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.

After all, Rich Hill debuted for the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fourth game of the World Series.
The southpaw had been announced as starting, but the team withdrew on Saturday morning and announced that his starter had to be announced.
