The Lowell Community Health Center warns the public after the diagnosis of measles in a pediatric patient.

The Lowell Sun stated that the patient was recovering at home after being isolated at the health center.

According to officials, anyone in the main hall of the health center, in the waiting room for children, in a pharmacy or in a laboratory, between 12:03. and 5:22 pm Thursday may have been exposed to measles, the newspaper reported.

The health center also seeks to identify anyone who has accompanied a patient or who has visited the laboratory or pharmacy between these hours, the newspaper reported.

The health center asks patients who were there during these hours and who do not have a confirmed vaccination book to get tested for immunity and get vaccinated, the paper says.

The health center will be open from 8h to 17h. on Sunday. Patients do not need appointments.

Anyone who has already been vaccinated is not at risk. Plus, anyone born before 1957 and born in the United States is probably immune, the paper says.
