Chris Sale wins the first match, exactly what the Red Sox needed
Former middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, was reportedly injured and would not participate in the main event with UFC 230 with Chris Weidman.
The UFC 230 just can not take a break, right?
According to former ESPN middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold is injured and was forced to withdraw from his fight for UFC 230 with Chris Weidman. The UFC would still be looking for a replacement for Weidman, but nothing has yet been announced.
Rockhold vs Weidman was a much-anticipated rematch, which will surely break the already struggling fight card. Rockhold defeated Weidman at UFC 194 through a fourth-round TKO to overthrow Weidman from his champion throne. Rockhold then lost the title after being knocked out by Michael Bisping at UFC 199 during one of the biggest setbacks of the year.
Weidman went through a series of health problems that prevented him from leaving the Octagon. On his return, he made a double in the last three appearances, which was unusual for the previously undefeated fighter. He has just won his first win, Kelvin Gastelum's third-round bid since his loss by Rockhold.
UFC 230 also lost the previous co-principal event – Dustin Poirier versus Nate Diaz, who had been dropped earlier this month after Poirier revealed a hip injury. The card was also hand-free for most of the time, until the UFC announced a fight between heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis, just days after Lewis's victory behind UFC 229.
After co-hosting two main events and leaving few options on the map, the UFC will have to pull something magical out of its hat to interest PPV buyers in this map.
Neither the fighters nor the UFC has confirmed this information at the time of the press.
UFC 230 will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018, live from Madison Square Garden, New York. Follow with FanSided MMA for all your live results and highlights.
