Lyric McHenry’s cause of death has been confirmed two months after her death.
The EJNYC star died aged 26 on 14 August, having been found in the Bronx area of New York City, slumped over on the path above the Major Deegan Expressway.
Now, it has been revealed that Lyric – who was reportedly 20 weeks pregnant at the time of her death – died as a result of an overdose of cocaine, alcohol and heroin.
Lyric had been out celebrating her 26th birthday in New York City when she was found dead.
According to an affidavit obtained by E! News, a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with the concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence.
Alexis Meija-Ramirez and ‘two other male individuals’ are accused of moving McHenry’s body above the Expressway.
Meijia-Ramirez is currently out on bail.
Lyric is the daughter of movie producer Doug McHenry, and was very close to her younger sister Maya and her mother Jennifer.

She was also very close to EJ Johnson, the son of Magic Johnson, who she starred alongside on E!’s EJNYC.
The reality show, a spin-off of Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills, followed EJ’s life with his glamorous friends. The series ended in November 2016 after one series.
According to Lyric’s LinkedIn, she achieved a degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University and has worked as a video producer, a trainee at a talent agency and an associate producer for Complex Networks.
Lyric was laid to rest in September in a private funeral.
