Mac Miller: Chance the Rapper and Miguel in the Honor

Stars like Chance the Rapper, SZA and Miguel paid tribute to Mac Miller during a memorial concert.

During the concert in Los Angeles, as well as during performances, video messages of celebrities were also broadcast.

Mac Miller, 26, died in September after an alleged overdose.

The concert raised funds for the Mac Miller Circles Fund (MMCF), which aims to improve opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The concert began with a video tribute to Mac, mixing footage of him showing that he was growing up with behind-the-scenes shots of his tour.

His real name, Malcolm James McCormick, became famous with his debut album in 2011.

He released his latest record, Swimming, earlier this year and was scheduled to tour, but his body was discovered on September 7, 2018 at his home in California.

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, recorded a video message: "Thank you Mac, for sharing your soul and your beauty with us, especially your love of music, thank you for sharing it with us.

"You were a really necessary and intelligent light and I'm really glad we met, I'm glad you made music and to all Mac fans, thank you for joining and being a part of it of his career. "

Pharrell Williams was another actor who paid tribute: "By listening to all your recent music, you really use your voice.It's amazing.I miss you, brother, rest quietly in peace."

Meanwhile, Lil Wayne praised Mac Miller's music and urged fans to come back and listen to his songs. He added, "Rest in peace."

American singer-songwriter Mayer has dedicated the star a cover of Small Worlds Mac.

Rumor has it that Mac Miller's former friend, Ariana Grande, would attend the concert, but it's still not clear if she was there.

The couple, who was less than a year old, met in 2012 and collaborated on several songs. It happened together at the One Love Manchester concert in 2017.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mac begins to focus on his music while still at school and releases his first mixtape under the name of EZ Mac at just 15 years old.

Maturity in the eyes of the public, he starred in a MTV reality series in 2013 that followed him, with a group of friends, after moving to Los Angeles to pursue his career.

He has published a series of albums and records over the past decade, collaborating with such renowned artists as Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams.

In a statement, Mac's mother, Karen Meyers, said, "He was a caring and loving human with a smile that would brighten the sky and a soul eager to make the world a more enjoyable place and the MMCF this."

The evening ended with the arrival of friends and family members on stage.
