Ariana Grande mourns the death of her former boyfriend, Mac Miller.

A day after the 26-year-old rapper was pronounced dead from an apparent overdose, Grande, 25, shared a black-and-white photo of her old boyfriend via Instagram on Saturday.

In the photo, Miller looks at the camera while sitting on the grass. You can see a pair of tennis shoes, probably Grande, between her legs.

In choosing to let the picture speak for herself, Grande shared the picture without a caption.

The singer "God Is a Woman" has turned off comments on the social media platform after some fans began to blame him for Miller's death on Friday.

Miller, whose real name is Malcolm McCormick, was pronounced dead Friday at 11:51 am at his studio studio in California, confirmed the medical department of the Los Angeles Medical Examiner in a statement to PEOPLE.

A cause of death remains to be determined, but one source told PEOPLE that Miller had had a cardiac arrest after appearing to be suffering from a drug overdose.

A few minutes before Grande ended her silence on Miller's death, the rapper's mother also shared a picture of her smiling son learning his head as they played together at a baseball game.

She subtitled the picture with a broken heart emoji.

After Miller's death, his family issued a statement thanking everyone for their "prayers".

"Malcolm McCormick, known and loved by fans like Mac Miller, died tragically at the age of 26," they said in a statement delivered at several points of sale. "He was a bright light in this world for his family, his friends and his fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no other details as to the cause of his death at this time. "

The rapper's tragic death comes months after PEOPLE confirmed his separation from Grande in May.

"Ariana and Mac officially broke up just after Coachella's weekend, but they finally had trouble for a long time with their relationship, and that was basically last year," said a source. at PEOPLE.

After the online trolls accused her of Miller's untimely death on Friday, a source told PEOPLE that the rapper had quit his relationship.

"Honestly, he seemed to have outgrown the situation in the Ariana," said the source, adding that Miller had said at one point: "I matured and my ex did not".

Great and Miller first appeared in public with their relationship in September 2016 – three years after collaborating on her single "The Way".

In July, Miller spoke about his past relationship with Grande during an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music and explained that they had both evolved since their separation.
