The rapper, singer and record producer Mac Miller has died at the age of 26 from an apparent overdose, according to media reports.

Miller was found Friday at his home in San Fernando Valley, California, and was declared dead at the scene, TMZ reported for the first time, citing police sources. He died of an apparent overdose, depending on the point of sale.

Miller's representatives did not immediately respond to HuffPost's request for comment. Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office also does not have

The Pittsburgh rapper had a long history of addiction. He overcame a promethazin addiction in 2012 and then talked about his drug use in a 12-minute documentary entitled "Stopped Making Excuses," published in 2016.

"I'm doing really well all the time," he said in the short film. "It will never stop. But I control my life. I'm not screwed right now. I relax myself. "

Miller has been in the public eye this year after he and pop star Ariana Grande broke up in May. He was arrested for a DUI later this month after crashing his car into an electric pole and fleeing the scene. The authorities arrested him at his home, where he allegedly blew twice the legal limit of a respirator.

A Miller profile released Thursday on Vulture featured the interpreter speaking frankly about the experience of negative feelings.

"I really do not want happiness," he told the channel. "And I do not just want sadness either. I do not want to be depressed. I want to be able to have good and bad days. "I can not imagine not waking up from time to time and feeling like I did not want to do shit."

The former "frat-rapper" released his fifth album, "Swimming", last month. "I have my head underwater, but I'm not in the shower and I do not get baptized," he says.

"You can hear his pain and perseverance even when he has trouble putting it into words," wrote Rolling Stone in his review of the album.

Miller was scheduled to begin a tour Oct. 27 with Thundercat and J.I.D. as acts of opening.

One of his last shows took place on Monday in front of a hundred people at the Hotel Café Hollywood. Watch his evocative rendition of "Hurt Feelings" with a group of four musicians:
