The characters on MacGyver may be able to find a way out of the tiniest of situations, but one of these characters will not be too long. George Eads, second in the group and playing Mac partner Jack Dalton, is out of the series in season 3 after an altercation on the set. Here's what we know of the incident, which is not the first problem on the MacGyver defined during the production of season 3.
George Eads allegedly had an altercation and then stormed Atlanta. The alleged incident took place in October and must have caused a tricky situation on the set because sources indicate that it occurred while there were still several hours of planned production That day.
Any altercation on the set that could have happened did not immediately prompt George Eads to leave the series. As MacGyver fans know it, Jack continued to be part of the series in season 3 and THR states that Eads is still in production on MacGyver. To this day, his last episode of the series will be broadcast at some point in 2019. No detail is currently available on how his character will be writing from the series.
Since the show is calling MacGyver and not Jack or MacGyver & Jack, the show could go in a lot of directions to write George Eads from the narrative. One of these options is obviously to kill him. Since the separation seems to indicate that this is not happening in the nicest of cases, a seamless break through Jack's death might be the simplest solution. Hey, it worked for Deadly weapon when this show wrote his co-lead!
Although George Eads did not officially comment on the announcement of his departure, he reportedly asked to be fired several times, due to his desire to spend time with his daughter in Los Angeles. With MacGyver based in Atlanta, he probably would not have been able to go regularly to L.A.
The producers apparently accepted George Eads' requests to leave the series after Eads announced his intention to leave the series. The altercation did not seem to have been so severe that immediate action was justified against him. Given the seemingly confusing nature of this split, Eads may not make another return to CBS.
Yes, MacGyver marked the second concert of George Eads during a large-scale concert with CBS. He spent 15 seasons on CSIand his departure from this show was linked to a problem that arose between the actor and one of the writers about his character. This split was described as amicable and obviously did not translate into a cool demeanor that would discourage Eads from taking another job on a CBS show. Still, could this be the end of his time on CBS as a whole?
