The second season of Netflix's award-winning docuseries will focus on the lawyer responsible for Avery's post-conviction process.
"Making a Murderer" returns to Netflix sooner than expected. The streaming service has announced that the long-awaited follow-up season has set October 19 as the release date.
Filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos have designed 10 new episodes of Steven Avery, his co-accused and nephew Brendon Dassey, their families and their legal teams. "Part 2" introduces a new character to the proceedings: Kathleen Zellner, a post-conviction lawyer who has granted more wrongful convictions than any private lawyer in America. Supporting Avery's request for freedom, Zellner discovers new evidence of what could have happened to Teresa Halbach while examining how and why the jury found Steven guilty of his murder.

The first season of "Making a Murderer" began in December 2015 and has gradually developed into a real sensation of crime.
