Update: Police placed the suspect in custody.
BOULDER, Colorado – Boulder police arrested a man Wednesday following a hostage incident at a Boulder hair salon.
The police were sent to Hair Rage International at Table Mesa Shopping Center (633 S. Broadway) in South Boulder shortly after 10 am.
Several officers were on the parking lot outside the show and the SWAT negotiators were on the phone with the suspect who was verbally combative.
Additional SWAT personnel and bomb technicians were also on the way.
The surrounding businesses were evacuated and it was advised the police to avoid it.
Montessori Community Elementary School (805 Gillaspie Drive) has been pre-empted but has since resumed normal operations.
