A man from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, died after being bitten by a shark around noon local time on Saturday.

According to the police, the emergency officers practiced CPR on the victim in their twenties. Shortly thereafter, he was transported to the Cape Cod Hospital by Wellfleet Fire Department officers but succumbed to his injuries.
The Wellfleet Police Department, who works with the National Parks Service and the state police on the case, said he refused to give his name until he was properly identified.
"The District Attorney's Office will release additional information," said the police department.

William Lytton, 61, was swimming off Long Nook Beach in Truro, also in Cape Cod. The neurologist hit the shark in the gills after remembering a nature documentary that said it was the most sensitive place of the predator. His attack was first in Massachusetts waters since 2012.
The native of Scarsdale, New York, hopes to be released soon from the hospital and rehabilitation center where he has been since, but another operation is planned.
It was not immediately clear what type of shark attacked the man on Saturday or what his injuries involved.
Lieutenant Michael Hurley of the Wellfleet Police Department was not immediately available for additional comments when he was contacted by Fox News on Saturday.
