(ELIZABETH, NJ) – A man was shot dead during a day of shopping in a New Jersey mall during a black Friday. Terrified customers ran and hid in stores.
The man was shot in the wrist on Friday night at the Jersey Gardens Mills in Elizabeth, said city spokeswoman Kelly Martins. She added that her injuries did not threaten her life.
No suspects were in custody, and the victim did not cooperate with the police, Martins said. The police were looking at the camera images.
The mall was evacuated after the shooting, which occurred in a hallway between a Tommy Hilfiger store and a Marshalls store, Martins said.
Carli Disla, her boyfriend and their 6-week-old daughter were in a Cohoes fashion store, heading for cash registers, when the couple noticed people running.
