The star of "Desperate Housewives" has posted an Instagram photo of herself stammering the loss of her trademark red hair while revealing her illness.

"I'm doing everyone well, I did not want to scare you, almost 8 months after the treatment," she later wrote in the comments.

Two days later, she made a long post on September 18 to describe the relief she felt after sharing the news of her cancer.
"After posting a photo of me here and pronouncing the words #cancer and #hairloss, I felt liberated, delusional and completely free," she said. "How or why did this simple act give me such a powerful momentum that I did not question it, but thanked God or anything that drove me to go from the front and to expose me. "
Cross expressed her appreciation for the support she received, saying that she did not expect the "love and kindness reaction that overwhelmed me" after her first job.
She then revealed what kind of cancer she had fought.
"If you asked yourself the question," she added, "I've had a #balance. Is not it ?! "
This is not the first time that cancer has touched Cross's family. Her husband, Tom Mahoney, was treated for the disease in 2009. The couple, who is the father of two twin daughters, did not reveal the type of cancer he was suffering from.
