Marcus Peters: Tell Sean Payton to Keep Talking After Rams' Defeat to the Saints | Bleacher's report

Scenarios will not be missed if the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints compete in the NFL playoffs.

"Tell Sean Payton to keep talking about that, we'll see him soon," said Rams cornerback Marcus Peters after New Orleans lost their first Los Angeles defeat of the season on Sunday. Markazi noted that the comment came after Payton, who said the match between Peters and wide receiver Michael Thomas favored the Saints.

Peters may not have liked the fact that the saints targeted him, but it worked wonders for the winners. Thomas burned the Rams for 12 catches and 211 yards for a touchdown in the 45-35 win.

His score came as the Saints had a three-point lead in the final four minutes, and he passed Peters for the 72-yard touchdown. He then ran to the goal post and took out a cell phone padding, paying tribute to a similar celebration of former New Orleans catcher, Joe Horn.

The Rams acquired Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs this latter off-season through the trade, and they surely expected him to be dominant, knowing that he won the title of Defensive Rookie of the Year 2015 and that he is twice Pro Bowler.

However, his only interception of the season came in the first match, and Christian D & Andrea SB Nation said it had allowed six touchdowns in just nine games.

It is not surprising that Payton has targeted, especially since Thomas is one of the best receivers of the league.

Fortunately for Peters, he may have the chance to redeem himself in the playoffs as the Rams are 8-1 and the Saints 7-1. Los Angeles will need him to play at a much higher level against Thomas or against the receiver against whom he is lining up if he intends to bail out his outing in a Super Bowl appearance.
