Actor Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, confirmed the idea he had had for the 1983 "Return of the Jedi" regarding the identity of the infamous "Star Wars" bounty hunter. Boba Fett: He thought Fett should be Luke's mother.
Hamill responded to a fan's theory Friday, confirming that he had actually launched the idea to the creator of "Star Wars," George Lucas. It was before he knew that Leia, played by Carrie Fisher, was Luke's sister.
"I once suggested to George as the only way to defeat Vader as my father. I saw her as a double agent working clandestinely for the Rebels, "Hamill said. "SPOILER ALERT: He did not like my idea."
In the early 2000s, at the time of the "Star Wars" series, fans hoped that Fett would be included and theorized how the mysterious bounty hunter would fit into the saga of a galaxy far, far away. Some have postulated that Fett was perhaps a childhood friend of Darth Vader.
Lucas included Fett as a young boy in 2002 in "Attack of the Clones". Boba Fett was the son of bounty hunter Jango Fett, used to creating an army of clones and beheaded later by the character of Samuel L. Jackson, Mace Windu.
