MOSCOW – Mark Hunt's next fight will be the last of his contract with the UFC, and he hopes it will take place near his home in Australia.
Hunt (13-13-1 MMA, 8-7-1 UFC) did not hide his intention to leave the UFC once his agreement was reached. He remains involved in an ongoing lawsuit against the company, which failed Brock Lesnar's drug testing at the time of their fight against the UFC 200 in July 2016, and is ready to move forward.
Hunt's fight took place last Saturday at UFC Fight Night 136. He suffered a first-round loss to Aleksei Oleinik (57-11-1 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in the Olympic Stadium match . in Moscow, and after Hunt enlightened his future.
Hunt said he hoped to conclude his contract at UFC Fight Night 142, which will take place on December 1 in Adelaide.
"I love working for the UFC, but we have problems," Hunt told reporters, including MMAjunkie, after the fight. "I still have one more fight to do, and I try to take the Adelaide card with Tai (Tuivasa) and the boys. A last trick for the old man.
Hunt, 44, is hoping to come out in style if he can get the date of his fight. Things did not go as planned with Oleinik, but Hunt is no stranger to defeat.
