The pop group led by Adam Levine, Maroon 5, could be leading the Halftime Super Bowl LIII show next February in Atlanta.
The news has not yet been officially confirmed by Maroon 5 or the NFL, but the initial scoop was provided by several sources to the Variety Industry publication Wednesday morning.

Like many former half-time performers, the group of seven musicians should bring together a group of high-level musicians to maximize their show (if they are actually the half-time performers).
Blues with red pill, the band's sixth studio album, was released last year and featured a range of guest musicians from Sza to Kendrick Lamar.
Fans speculated on Twitter about artists who could eventually join Maroon 5 on stage for the expected annual performance.
Half-time shows usually consist of medleys and additional performers. In the past, Canadian star Shania Twain played with Sting and No Doubt. The 2012 show saw Madonna invite a group of Billboard singers, from Cee Lo Green to Nicki Minaj (and many others). Bruno Mars did the same thing in 2014 by inviting the Red Hot Chili Peppers on stage.
It is likely that we will have at least one special guest to join Maroon 5 for Superbowl 2019, given their collaborative experience.
Cardi B. is a likely candidate to make an appearance since Girls like you is one of the group's biggest successes. Lamar could appear for I do not want to know?, or the rapper from Atlanta, Future, could eventually reach the stadium for Cold.

Unfortunately for the 5 Maroon, it seems that many Atlanta residents are furious with this announcement; people are upset that Maroon 5 is a Californian band. There is already a varied catalog of musicians from Georgia, who may be more suited to the Super Bowl, according to some.
The NFL fans, outraged and disappointed, tweeted their feelings about it.
Even rapper Waka Flocka had something to say about it. TMZ shared a video recorded by Flocka on Thursday morning.
"I think for the Super Bowl, you should have someone from Atlanta who represents Atlanta." Just for the Super Bowl here, we can give them that spice – I think they should have somebody. Like Migos, Future or someone, I could come play Hard in da Paint. They need Atlanta, that's right. It's unfair, but it's the NFL we're talking about. They are not right. They are insensitive to people with feelings. "
He showed no consternation towards Maroon 5, but accused the NFL of not being represented by Atlantan.

In a statement, an NFL representative told Variety, "It's a Super Bowl tradition to speculate on Pepsi's half-time show artists. We continue to work with Pepsi on our projects, but we have no announcements to make on what will be another epic show.
The publicist of Maroon 5 did not make any other comments.
The 53rd annual Super Bowl will be broadcast on Sunday, February 3, 2019.
