A father who was captured on video and allegedly used his toddler to steal toys and prizes from a claw machine in a New Hampshire mall is now facing several charges.
Anthony Helinski went to the police on Wednesday after a warrant was issued against him. Helinski was later charged with theft, trespassing and endangering children, police said.
The former 34-year-old teacher, employed by Andover Public Schools, has since been on administrative leave, reported ABC News affiliate WCVB-TV.
"One of our teachers at Doherty College was involved in an incident in Salem, New Hampshire last week," said a spokesperson for Andover Public Schools in a statement to WCVB-TV. "Andover public schools cooperate fully with the authorities."
Witnesses watched the crime at the Rockingham Park Mall on Friday and recorded a video as Helinski helped her daughter climb into the slot of the KeyMaster game, according to WCVB-TV.
The video shows Helinski's daughter grabbing objects from the game and handing them over to her father.
The police asked the public for help identifying Helinski by posting the video online on Facebook.
Helinski has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 29 in Salem, Massachusetts.
