All the good graces that Bill Belichick could have earned Tuesday afternoon – when he compared the Bears attack to that of Kansas City – have officially disappeared.
Today, during a discussion with reporters, a comparison between Khalil Mack and Lawrence Taylor was made. Belichick, who directed LT as the New York Giants Defensive Coordinator in the 1980s, did NOT:
Belichick asked if Khalil Mack was among the best passing players he's seen, including Lawrence Taylor. He squeezed the brakes on that one. pic.twitter.com/scE0omIEHX

"Wait a minute, we're talking about Lawrence Taylor now, I'm not putting anyone in the class (LT), put everyone under, and with a lot of respect for a lot of good players, we're talking about Lawrence Taylor."
A little hard, Bill.
For what it's worth, here is Khalil Mack's projection for 2018, assuming that his last ankle injury does not waste time:
20 bags, four interceptions, 16 forced fumbles, 4 splinter recoveries
That's 0.5 bags less and four INTS, 16 FF and 4 more recoveries than LT had in his MVP season of 1986. And yes, maybe "they did not record tackles / fumbles in 1986 "and" 16 forced escapes would not make the current record disappear (10) but would simply be unrealistic ".
UPDATE: shocker, LT accepts:
What he said !!!! ?? https://t.co/mO6jgwhJ4e
