Matthew Broderick joins "The Conners".

The actor, 56, is expected to make an appearance in the film "Roseanne" for an upcoming episode, confirmed Broderick's representative, Simon Halls, at USA TODAY on Saturday.

Broderick is expected to play the role of Peter, a loving lover on the screen for Laurie Metcalf's character, Jackie, during a Halloween episode aired on October 30th.

Something can go wrong between the characters, however – a summary of the plot for the episode IMDb.com reveals: "Jackie introduces a new family member to the Halloween party and insists that Dan check it, but immediately wishes she did not."

The sitcom on ABC was created Tuesday with 10.5 million viewers, ahead of the "Manifest" of NBC, which would be the biggest premiere of the same day for a new show this season, according to preliminary estimates of Nielsen.

Broderick is best known for his lead role in the 1986 film "The Ferris Bueller Holiday" and for Simba's adult voice role in Disney's "The Lion King" trilogy.
