Media Respond to Victory Statement in Georgia on South Carolina

A meeting between Georgia Bulldogs and South Carolina Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday was touted as a potential clash for the SEC's eastern crown. Yes, it's only week 2. But the Bulldogs and Gamecocks were chosen to finish No. 1 and No. 2 in the media division at SEC Media Days, respectively.

If it was really an omen of what team will represent SEC East in the championship game on December 1, Georgia fans should start planning accordingly. The Bulldogs dominated Saturday's Gamecocks by winning 41-17.

Georgia has taken a quick lead on interception by Deandre Baker, the defensive back was on the goal line but the linebacker Juwan Taylor picked up the ball for a touchdown, and never looked back. Sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm was an effective 15 for 18 pass attempts for 194 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Hardman mole had a big day in the air with six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs also had a touchdown from Andre Swift, Elijah Holyfield and Brian Herrien.

The defense conceded 336 yards, but South Carolina was never able to get consistent grounding (54 yards rushing). The Gamecocks were only 6 of 14 on the third downhill and J.R. Reed on the South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley in the end zone for the second interception of the quarterback.
