The Mega Millions jackpot jumped to $ 654 million, with a $ 372.6 million cash option, after no one won the Friday night draw.

Friday's winning numbers were 4-24-46-61-70 and a Mega Ball of 7. Nobody has won since July.

The total estimated at $ 654 million is the second highest in the history of the game. The biggest, an additional $ 2 million, was drawn in March 2012. It would also be the fourth most big jackpot winner in US history, with two Powerball draws exceeding the highest total of Mega Millions.

A person in Arkansas earned $ 3 million on Friday by matching the five white balls.

The next draw will take place on Tuesday, October 16th – and it is possible that the total will reach a Mega Millions record.

The $ 548 million jackpot on Friday would have been the third largest in the history of Mega Millions. The payment was $ 309.2 million as a cash option.

On Tuesday, four tickets represented the five white balls to win the second prize, and 37 balls equal, four white balls and the Mega Ball for a prize in third position

The winning ticket for Powerball's $ 1.58 billion historic jackpot in January 2016 was raffled in Florida.

New York has sold the greatest number of Mega Millions jackpot wins in the history of the game, with 35 wins over the past 16 years.

California ranks second with 30 wins in 13 years of play. New Jersey ranks third with 20 winning tickets sold since 2002.
