Meghan Markle asked Serena Williams to watch Prince Harry's polo and his look was mostly nostalgic

Let's discuss celebrity friendships in which I would like to insert. Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, of course. Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. Solange and Dev Hynes. And on Saturday, I remembered another duo on the list, when Meghan Markle and Serena Williams watched together Prince Harry's polo game during their first public catch-up since the Royal Wedding. Although there are many, many reasons to envy Meghan, it is possible that her friendship with current icon Serena Williams overcomes them all. Ladies, I will not pretend to understand or even care about polo, but could I score next time?

The two men took part in the Audi Polo Challenge at Ascot, where both Princes Harry and William played (and won) the charity event supporting Child Bereavement UK and Tusk Trust, as reports Hello . Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, founder of Reddit and co-creator of one of my top five celebrity babies, was also present (a bold statement, but I've got it), Alexis Olympia Ohanian , Jr.

I would neglect to mention a Meghan Markle outlet without the necessary break-up of its always impeccable style. Meghan wore a gingham plaid shirt dress at the event, paired with rather familiar accessories. So what is the truth about the whole – and is one of us available for us, mere mortals, to buy?

Let's start with the dress. According to Vogue the sleeveless gingham midi of Meghan is from the New York brand Shoshanna – and unsurprisingly, it is already sold out. According to Glamor the dress retailed for around $ 280 and was previously available via Amazon, until stocks ran out. Of course, it's the ideal day dress, but it's not one of the most affordable items in Meghan's wardrobe.

And the hat? If you think this sounds familiar to you, you're not wrong – it looks a lot like Meghan's adored Madewell hat, which Vogue spotted in Texas a year ago. Good news and bad news: first of all, the hat is technically available in the UK via the Madewell website, but before you get too excited, let me burst your bubble: it is currently exhausted. Forgive me, I beg you!

Finally, the sandals. The brown leather laces of Meghan were Sarah Flint's Grear style, which, according to Marie Claire was spotted three times before. She is also true to the brand: Marie Claire adds that she has worn her style more than 25 times. This is another American brand, unfortunately, and they are all sold except in Meghan's favorite color and material ("Saddle Vachetta", apparently), but you can get them on Farfetch in case of replenishment.

While she's settling into the royal life, it seems that Meghan is developing a subtle division between her aesthetic continuously and outside of the clock . While her royal engagement wardrobe is stuffed with Prada and Givenchy, all fitted dresses and elegant court shoes, her casual wear seems to recall her pre-royal, lighter LA style. It's refreshing enough to see her maintain her personal fashion sensibilities in the face of such a redesigned lifestyle – and very useful for royal style observers, too, since most of us will not find a opportunity for Carolina Herrera custom.

So, back to polo. The event took place two days before Wimbledon, Williams' first since the birth of baby Alexis Olympia. Since Williams skipped a press conference before the tournament to attend, according to Guardian, could Meghan repay the favor by encouraging him on the courts? A BFF outing to celebrate GOAT tennis would be pretty cute – plus, I would not lower my eyes to the sets of the Duchess's central court.
