Meghan Markle is back in black – and her last choice of outfit is super symbolic.
The Duchess of Sussex left Prince Harry at her side on Tuesday for the "Oceania" exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London, marking her first solo appearance as a royal. However, her outfit choice was a subtle nod for her and Harry's relationship.
Meghan, 37, wore a black dress with long transparent sleeves and a slot on the front of Givenchy's skirt – the designer of her royal wedding dress!
She refined the look with her black Aquazzura pumps, a Givenchy clutch and her sleek hair.

Although Givenchy is a French brand, her choice of wedding dress designer has also honored her British debut – British designer Clare Waight Keller has been Artistic Director of Givenchy since Riccardo Tisci's departure in 2017.
For Meghan's wedding with Prince Harry, Waight Keller created a pure white silk dress with an open neckline and a slight trapeze skirt. According to the release, her wedding shoes are "based on a refined Givenchy pointy sewing design made of a silk duchess satin."
"It was an amazing thing to be part of such a historic moment and, in fact, to have the opportunity to work with it," Keller said at Kensington Palace's Waight Keller to reporters. in London during the weekend of the royal wedding.

The wedding selection of Meghan seems to have initiated a royal relationship with Waight Keller and Givenchy, just as the sister-in-law of actress Kate Middleton often wears Alexander McQueen – her creator of wedding dresses – to official engagements. Previously, Meghan wore a dress by the brand for her first solo outing with Queen Elizabeth, as well as a white Givenchy selection for her debut at Royal Ascot.

The date of Meghan's first solo release is also significant: she falls exactly one year after she made her debut as a couple at the Invictus Games in Toronto. The royal couple walked hand-in-hand in the Paralympic-style wheelchair tennis event – with Meghan swinging the "Husband's Shirt" from her designer friend Misha Nonoo's collection.
Two months later, on November 27, Clarence House announced the couple's commitment.

She also had a taste of the culture in which she immersed herself next month during a short performance of a Maori cultural group.
