Meghan Markle organized her first luncheon in a palace for a very important cause Thursday by launching a special cookbook that she helped to create.
Meghan, 37, was accompanied by her husband, Prince Harry, 34, and her mother, Doria Ragland (who had come from LA earlier this week), to celebrate the release of Together: Our Community Cookbook.
But it was really his moment. Dressed in a black top by Tuxe, a black pleated skirt by her Misha Nonoo designer and a light blue coat by Smyth, Meghan joined Hubb Community Kitchen's women and created a meal of chicken curry with coconut, eggplant and chapatis at the couple's Royal house
Meghan and Harry then sat with the women and their guests, including those from the local community, the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Center and representatives of the publishers of the book Ebury Press to enjoy the freshly prepared feast.
As the women and Meghan presented the recipes in the royal setting, the dessert included a spilled cake with caramelized plum and a spicy mint tea.

Meghan wrote the preface to the book, which features recipes from a group of women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, in which more than 70 people died.

In this document, she said that Hubb (which means love in Arabic) "is a place where women can laugh, cry and cook together. Fusion of cultural identities under a shared roof. . . creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy – in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, feed and commune through food, crisis or joy – something we can all refer to .

She was inspired to help after visiting women in January. Following the tragedy of June 2017, the women had come together to prepare food for their families and neighbors.
At the event, Meghan proudly introduced her mother Doria to the inspiring women with whom she has been friends over the course of the year.
The book's recipes will help the kitchen stay open and expand its reach to other members of the community and beyond.
In her first four years, Meghan demonstrated self-confidence and achieved royal attributes, those of her parents, Doria.
"Meghan draws a lot of strength from her mother. Doria is classy, classy and confident, but not unreachable, "said Daniel Martin, a longtime Meghan friend and makeup artist. "I really think Meghan gets a lot of that from his mother."
