Meghan Markle brought the American spirit of Thanksgiving to the survivors of the deadly Grenfell Tower fire at a community kitchen in London last year.
The expectant mother looked at home while she was mixing vegetables with her hands in Hubb Community Kitchen on Wednesday.
She wore a red dress and a Club Monaco coat and greeted her guests with big cuddles, breaking with the traditional royal protocol.
His recent break-up of royal protocol is featured in ABC News's upcoming special show, "The Real Princess Diaries".
"There is something about the American character, who is very different from the British, a lot more open and affectionate in the way they deal with the public," ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts told Inside Edition.
Roberts said that in the special, you can see how the late Princess Diana influenced her son and Meghan's husband, Prince Harry.
"If you remember, she was so practical with her children. She hugged them in a way the royal family never did. Well, you see Meghan and Harry among the crowds, hugging each other, shaking hands, kissing the world and bringing a modern twist to the royal family, "she said.

This affection extends to the relations between the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex.
Now, royal observers are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the royal baby in the spring.
"Here you have this child who has ancestors who are British royalty and African-American slaves. What power, "said Roberts.
The Duchess will spend the US holidays in the UK for the first time as a royal.
"It's a woman who loves to cook. She and Harry talked about roasting a chicken when they were together for the first time. Last year, she went to visit her mother for Thanksgiving while she was just getting engaged. I guess I would not be surprised if a turkey is cooked in the royal oven this weekend, "Roberts said.
"She likes to adhere to tradition."
