Meghan Markle shakes hair at her wedding reception in Sussex

Meghan Markle has revisited a special hairstyle for an important occasion.

The Duchess of Sussex came out Wednesday with Prince Harry for his first joint visit to Sussex, about 50 km south of London, and she offered fans a major wedding-seen. She wore her hair in her finest bun, with loose, curly pieces framing her face – the exact style she'd chosen on her wedding day to go to her evening reception at Frogmore House.

For her memorable car look, Meghan hired barber George Northwood, recommended by a friend, after impressing her on a hairstyle test at the start of the royal wedding.

"George is very friendly, very cool and his iconic look, slightly messy and a bit of a mess, is perfect for her," a PEOPLE source who has worked with Northwood told PEOPLE.

Northwood, who has also worked with celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Alicia Vikander and Julianne Moore, also worked with Meghan after the royal wedding. He was seen in Meghan's private entourage during the couple's two-day tour of Ireland in July.

The former London hairdresser at Meghan in London had previously revealed to PEOPLE that although the royal naturally has "beautiful curls", she undergoes intensive salon treatments to manage her mane.

The treatment, which costs $ 350 and takes between two and four hours, implies that the stylist applies keratin (a protein that naturally occurs in the hair), and then uses heat to seal them.

"She has very beautiful hair," said Kakoulli, who saw Meghan at Mayfair's Clarke show in the summer of 2016, just before it was revealed that she was dating Prince Harry. "Her hair was in such good shape, and you could say that she really cares and is proud of it – it's really beautiful."
