Meghan Markle's visit to the Fijian market cut short by crowd control concerns

Meghan Markle made her first solo engagements as a member of the royal family on Wednesday, but a visit to a local Fiji market was cut short in what Kensington Palace calls "crowd control concerns." This has led some to question whether the busy schedule of the royal tour maybe catch up with Meghan, who recently announced her pregnancy.

Getting married in the royal family can sometimes be hard work, even when it takes you to a tropical island like Fiji, where the couple has received a warm welcome wherever they go. The first speech of this Meghan Tour was well received, but over the course of the day, attention on its first solo release has become overwhelming, reports CBS News correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti.

Upon their arrival at the University of the South Pacific, Prince Harry and Meghan were given traditional Fiji lei, adorned with flowers, that they would continue to wear throughout the day. Meghan then delivered his first speech during the tour using his global platform to focus on education.

"Everyone should have the opportunity to receive the education he wants, but especially the education that he has the right to receive," she said.

She also spoke to the crowd about her courage and determination.

"It's thanks to scholarships, financial aid programs and work-study that my income from a job on campus was paid directly to my tuition and I was able to go to university" , she said.

The American king has announced two grants to empower young women, the youngest of whom have presented themselves in tiaras.
But Meghan's day did not go smoothly. Royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah was with Meghan when a planned visit to a market was abruptly interrupted. She was there to meet local women artisans enrolled in an American program.

"I think she felt a little hot and troubled by the crowd," Nikkhah said. "I think for Meghan, this is her first big overseas tour, she may have been a bit surprised to see just how demanding each engagement is, and you need to create a game face for every commitment … being a member of the royal family, you need to showcase your face. "

Kensington Palace said the official line was that security was concerned about the size of the crowd. But we know that exhaustion played a role in this tour. Meghan is three months pregnant and earlier this week, she took a leave before joining the tour Tuesday.
