Jennifer Weathers, Cordie's mother, did not disclose all the facts in the missing persons report she said the day after her daughter's disappearance, the Oregonian newspaper reported, citing a memo saying Yamhill County prosecutor Brad Berry had agreed to continue.

Weathers first told the police that she and her daughter were arguing in the car, but Berry says she never told the police that Cordie had snatched her a tuft of his hair. Authorities learned the physical nature of the quarrel only when a detective confronted Weathers after finding the hair in his car, the memo said.

The mother also stated that Cordie had "left the car", and then announced to the investigators that her daughter had actually jumped, according to the memo.

Weathers said the car was traveling at less than 5 mph, but that speed was not causing Cordie's serious injuries, Berry said.

Cordie died instantly when she came out of the moving car, hit her head on a railing and slid along an embankment. An autopsy later revealed that she had undergone an aortic separation, probably after her back had hit the security fence and that she had also had a head trauma.

Also incoherent was the location of the body. Cordie's body was found barefoot about fifteen kilometers from the place indicated by Weathers. Yet his feet did not have any injuries associated with such a long walk, the memo says.

Berry also noted that Weathers said he took a muscle relaxant before his first polygraph test, causing a delay until this afternoon. The results were ultimately inconclusive. Weathers never came for his second polygraph test and has not yet postponed it.

It was determined that Cordie, 27, had not been forced or pushed out of the back seat of the car, where she was sitting with her 3-year-old daughter, Berry said. The investigators concluded that the death was tragic, but it was not a crime.

Cordie's body was found almost a week after his disappearance. A team of more than 300 investigators and rescuers tried in vain to locate it. Joggers finally found the body on an embankment.

Although Weathers is not charged with the death of her daughter, she was cited for driving while intoxicated and careless endangering.
