First Lady Melania Trump ran up a $95,050 hotel bill during a recent trip to Cairo, despite only staying in the city for six hours.
The president’s wife splurged the huge amount at the Semiramis InterContinental hotel in the Egyptian city, where rooms run from $119 a night to $699 for the presidential suite.
According documents seen by Quartz, Mrs Trump’s team paid the bill on September 30, a week before she arrived for a daytime-only stay on October 6.
Federal spending records seen by the website list the bill as for ‘FLOTUS visit hotel rooms,’ and offer no further breakdown of how the cash was spent, or how many rooms were booked.
The huge sum is almost $20,000 more than the $77,345 the president spent during a two night stay at his Scottish golf course in July.

The First Lady stopped off in Cairo after visiting Ghana, Malawi and Kenya.
While in Egypt, she was pressed by a reporter about her decision to wear a Zara jacket emblazoned with the words ‘I really don’t care, do u?’ to meet young migrant children separated from their families.
The Flotus snapped back: ‘I wish people would focus on what I do, not what I wear.’
Her splurge came after a 2017 Fox News analysis branded Mrs Trump’s office ‘one of the leanest East Wing operations in recent history.’
She employed four people during her husband’s first year in office, paying combined salaries of $486,700.
That is significantly less than the $1.24million a year her precedessor Michelle Obama spent employing 16 members of staff during her spouse’s first 12 months in the White House.
