The White House spent more than $ 95,000 Melania Trump's time in Cairo during his trip to Africa last month, according to newly-released government data.
Trump and her staff forked over $ 95,050 at the Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo in Egypt's capital city. The first lady's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said on Twitter that Trump did not stay overnight.
The cost sheet did not break down Sept. 6-7, but stated the State Department funded by the Embassy in Cairo. The payment was sent Sept. 30.
The hotel 's website shows that for a standard room Thursday to Friday, guests would be charged $ 164. Suites start at $ 224, and the presidential suite goes for $ 609.
Trump visited four African nations in October, including Ghana, Kenya, and Malawi. During her first trip, she gave an interview to ABC News and said she was going to be a cyberbullying lady.
"I could say I'm the most bullied person in the world," Trump said. "One of them, if you really see what people are saying about me."
